How to swim freestyle
Swimming is a great sport in that it provides both a challenge in a individual competition and team competition. Not only does a swimmer swim against all other swimmers for the best time, but as a team, they swim for points against the other team. Below is a video explaining the necessary components for the freestyle stroke.
Update: Hobby
I love to swim! It can be in the ocean, a lake or the pool -- or even the bathtub. I started swimming on our neighborhood swim team when I was nine years old, fell in love with it and continued on the team in high school. A few years after I married my husband asked me to get my diving certification which I did. We planned a trip to Cozumel and had the opportunity to go on three dives. There is such a peacefulness in the water!
When I had children, I passed on my love of swimming and signed them up on the neighborhood swim team as well as volunteering my time as a referee. When they were younger, our summer Saturdays were filled with swimming -- we just coouldn't get enough! We would come home from swim meets and then swim in the pool all weekend.
As far as hobbies go, perhaps this is considered as one of my hobbies in the summertime since I no longer compete. Of course, even our dog loves to swim!
